This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy supplements our Privacy Notice. It explains how ClanCare collects, uses, shares and protects “consumer health data” for U.S. residents, including the notice required by applicable state consumer-health-data laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act.
1. Consumer health data we may collect
“Consumer health data” may include personal information linked or reasonably linkable to a consumer that identifies their past, present, or future physical or mental health status. Depending on the features you choose, we may collect:
- Care recipient identity and relationship information;
- Health conditions, symptoms, mobility or wellness notes that you choose to record;
- Medication names, schedules, reminders and confirmation notes;
- Appointments, care tasks, clinical visit notes and related calendar information;
- Prescriptions, documents, images or files that you choose to upload;
- Information showing a family member’s involvement in coordinating care; and
- Other information you or an authorized family-group member voluntarily enters into the Service.
We do not intentionally infer a person’s health status from website browsing, advertising activity or unrelated data. Website trackers, where you opt in, are not configured to receive care recipient health information.
2. Sources and purposes
We receive consumer health data directly from you, from an authorized member of your family group, and from information you choose to upload or enter in the app. We use it only to provide and maintain the features you request: creating and maintaining care profiles, coordinating family tasks and schedules, showing reminders, supporting secure access, resolving support issues, and protecting the Service from misuse.
Before you add another person’s health information, you must confirm in the app that you have legal authority or that person’s explicit consent. You must not add or share information when you do not have that authority or consent.
3. How we share consumer health data
We may share consumer health data with the following recipients only as necessary for the purposes above:
| Recipient | Why information may be shared |
|---|---|
| Authorized family-group members | To enable the care coordination and collaboration selected by the account holder or an authorized user. |
| Service providers | Firebase / Google Cloud for core infrastructure; Firebase Crashlytics for app stability; and other providers that process data on our behalf to operate the Service. They may use data only under our instructions and for the service requested. |
| Apple App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat | For subscription purchase, entitlement and account-management functionality. These parties do not receive care content merely because a subscription is purchased. |
| Authorities or other parties where legally required | To comply with a valid legal obligation, protect rights and safety, or respond to a lawful process. |
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it with Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, advertisers, data brokers, or advertising networks. Any disclosure not covered by this policy will require your consent where applicable law requires it.
4. Your choices, consent and rights
You can choose not to provide consumer health data, but core care-coordination features may not work without the information necessary for them. You can edit or remove content in the app and can request access, confirmation of processing, correction, deletion, or a portable copy by contacting us at info@clancareapp.com. We may ask for information necessary to verify the request and to protect other family-group members’ information.
When you make a deletion request, we delete applicable consumer health data from active systems immediately after confirmation, subject to technical processing time. Archived content is retained only while you choose to keep it in an active account and is removed when you delete it or delete the account. Short-lived disaster-recovery copies may remain only as technically necessary to protect the integrity and security of the service, and are not available for ordinary use.
If you are an authorized agent making a request for another person, contact us with evidence of your authority. You may appeal a decision about a privacy request by replying to our response and explaining why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We will review it and respond within the period required by applicable law.
5. Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect consumer health data, including access controls and encryption in transit and at rest where supported by our provider configuration. No system is completely secure. We keep consumer health data only for as long as the account is active or as otherwise needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect the Service; account deletion is handled as described above.
6. Changes and contact
We may revise this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the new version here and update the effective date. To submit a consumer-health-data request or ask a question, email info@clancareapp.com with the subject line “Consumer Health Data Request,” or write to Angelo Cutrona, Via della Valle 34, 46040 Solferino (MN), Italy.
